The Real Truth About Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship isn’t about luck, it’s about vision, creativity, time management, determination, and goals.  Setting realistic goals as an entrepreneur can be quite daunting, but it is not impossible.  There are different methods that you can use and not one of them is a one size fits all program.  To get down and dirty with the TRUTH, I might lose a few people.  I don’t know all the answers to being an entrepreneur as I too have been my own boss for over a year.  However, I employ common sense when it comes to the resources that you need to succeed.

Don’t Settle for Less- Many times people don’t dream big because they don’t believe they can reach those big goals.  If you love what you do, by all means stick with it and don’t give up.  There will be times when you are not making the money that you expect, the engagements on social media will be low, and you will start to feel discouraged.  You will see Instagram influencers state that they made over $10k in 4 months and if you buy this course and this program, you can do the same.  You have to realize that they have been in business more than a couple of years and have amassed a following that can support that.  Their budget for marketing is in the thousands, that I am sure.  There are definitely unrealistic goals that are not possible in your own strength. In other words, unless God intervened and did something miraculous, like taking a 10k annual revenue and turning it into a million dollar annual revenue, it is pretty close to impossible. Most people with any sense would know that is not possible.

Now I am not saying that the goal is not attainable.  But be a Realist and don’t set yourself up for failure.  Your time will come.  You have to put in the work and don’t expect to be aovernight success.

Create your Reality-Visualization is way to create your reality. When you’re alone and have time to meditate vision your goal as if you accomplished it. How does it feel? Where are you? What does the image look like? How does it smell around you? Reach out and touch the items in your vision. Breathe life into your dream. Live your dream.  Speak your dream into existence.

Time Management– The best time to start your new goal is now. You may find an excuse of why to start later or why you’re not ready. But, in reality, you are more than ready. You can grab what you need along the way.  Be flexible.  Regularly assess your progress toward your goals. What’s working, what’s not, what do you need to change? And re-assess. You need to be honest about how much time you really have to dedicate to growing your business and set realistic goals. If you don’t have that extra hour each week to focus on your website and/or social media or you don’t have the extra time to learn how to use the latest social media tool, you’re going to be stressed, frazzled and frustrated.  Be proud of yourself because you took the first step toward financial freedom.

Bottom Line Up Front- If you’re honest with yourself about your resources, aren’t setting unrealistic goals and willing to be patient and re-adjust your vision frequently, you’ll be well on your way to setting totally achievable goals that you can hit year-round.  Mind-set is everything.

Love all of this. It’s good advice and I needed to hear this at the moment. It’s so easy to get discouraged but I have to keep pushing through.

Dominica, Thank you for reading the post. I agree, that it is so easy to get discouraged. I use to constantly compare where I was in my journey to other people and came to the realization that I am in control of my destiny and to not be hard on myself. Once, I did that, everything began to come into place. You got this. Keep on pushing and you will start to see your hard work come into fruitation.
